How greenercars rate the passenger vehicles:
- Analyze data from US EPA, California Air Resources Board and automakers on fuel economy, emissions and vehicle specifications.
- Estimate pollution from vehicle manufacturing, fuel production and distribution, and tailpipe emissions.
- Consider the health impacts of various pollutants like fine particles, nitrogen oxides, hydrocarbons, others, etc.
- Then include greenhouse gasses and create a Green Score from 0 to 100. As the score increases, so does the car’s cleanliness, greenness, and Eco-friendliness.
- This year top score is 71/100
